Charles Maxwell Chastain, age 86, of Roswell, GA, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2024. He was born in Atlanta, GA to the late Troy Chastain and Francis Gay. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mildred Chastain Lupton and although his life was short, in 2014 he lost his his beloved son Charlie.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Mary Ella Burris Chastain, his daughter whom he loved deeply Ruth Ellen Bridgers (Chris), his two grandsons, Mason and Connor Bridgers, who were the apples of his eyes and his brother Frank Chastain and sister Mary Chastain Kitchings.
A distinguished mechanical engineer, Charles graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology and applied his expertise over many years at BellSouth. His dedication to his profession was matched by his commitment to serving his country, having proudly served in the Army Reserves. Charles will be remembered for his work ethic, his strong yet kind and gentle demeanor, and his unwavering love for his family.
A memorial service to celebrate Charles's life will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 11:00 am in the chapel of Roswell Funeral Home, located at 950 Mansell Rd, Roswell, GA 30076.
