Martin Thomas Duggan Jr., age 89, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024 in Detroit, Michigan. He was born December 8, 1934, in Harrison Township, Michigan to Mae (Gleason) and Martin Sr. He was a 1953 graduate of St. Mary High School of Mt. Clemens, Michigan. He was married to Dolores Marie (Binard) Duggan for over 50 years.
Martin (aka Marty or Joe) enlisted in the Navy and was stationed in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was a member of the Carpenter’s Union for over sixty years and worked as a superintendent of construction for large industrial buildings such as schools, hospitals, and stores. He also volunteered as a golf course ranger at the Selfridge Air National Guard Base for several years. He enjoyed spending winter time golfing in McCormick, South Carolina.
He leaves behind his four children, Maureen (Dennis) Quinn, Martin Duggan, III (Autumn Farole), Molly Duggan, and Michelle Duggan, four grandchildren, Benson and Nathan Quinn and Claire and Connor Duggan, and two great-grandchildren, Oliver and Cooper Quinn. Martin was preceded in death by his wife Dolores, his parents, and all of his siblings, Lawrence Duggan, Veronica Keefe, Ellen Kick, Donna Denryter, Ann Smith, and twin children, Mark and Marlene Duggan.
Martin was a jokester and loved to make people laugh. He would talk to anyone and was a social butterfly.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church (Market Street between North Main Street and Southbound Gratiot Avenue), Mt. Clemens with visitation at 9:30 a.m.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at The Village of East Harbor and Henry Ford Hospital for their attentiveness and gentle care.
