Joy Marie Cholak, age 79, passed away on October 14, 2024. She was born in Sheridan Twp, Michigan on January 21, 1945 to her late parents Fred and Aletha Grabowski. Joy is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, John Cholak; loving children: Diane (Allen) Altman, Michael Cholak; grandchildren: Nicole Harris, Brittany Harris, Brendan Cholak, Riley Cholak; sisters: Delila (Gary) Rasmussen, Aletha (Ron) Moody; niece: Aletha Marie; and nephew: Aaron Moody. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Joyce Blocki, Judy Nardecchia; and nephews: Carl Little and Kenny Blocki.
Joy graduated as a straight A student from Pershing High School. She loved working and held many jobs including a secretary, working at the bacon packing plant, Korvettes, Duffs restaurant, Folands, and eventually retiring from Target. She won awards for being able to type over 100 words per minute. Joy enjoyed bowling, playing cards, playing the lottery, helping stray animals, reading the bible, camping, gardening and her house plants. She truly enjoyed the holidays and loved baking Christmas cookies. Joy made the best fish dinner from fish that John would catch. She enjoyed family reunions and loved her family.
Visitation, Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a funeral service at 6:00 p.m. at Kaul Funeral Home, 27830 Gratiot Ave., Roseville. Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.
