I can’t begin to express how sorry I am that Helen has passed on. She gave me some words of wisdom & encouragement when I too became a widow. I admired & loved her, she was such an inspiration to all. We have been friends & neighbors for years, she is going to be missed. Until then, see you later my friend.💗🕊️

My Mother, Helen May, was most certainly one of a kind. There was a reason we affectionately referred to her as the ‘Queen’ and loved her so. On some level, we really thought she would outlive us all. Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her, instantly loved her. She had her own ‘way’-‘directing’ those around her and never had to apologize for it. Her strength and personality was infectious. 

She is welcomed into paradise taking the hand of my father, Ronnie. They are together again, forever. Until we see you again…

My mother lived a long and rewarding life. 
She had a successful career and making lifelong friends from her job was one of her greatest joys. 
She took pride in her home and always had a list of what needed to be done. I would always joke with her that her list was now complete only to have her add several more things. Prior to moving full time to Florida,  Michael and I enjoyed going to dinner and taking her to downtown Detroit for a few hours at the casino where she was the fastest video poker player one would ever see. I came to Detroit as often as I could, but not as often as I wanted. She always was excited to hear I booked my flight to come and spend time with her. 
Everyone loved Helen. Her neighbors always checked on her when one of her children couldn’t be there. I called her at least twice a day most days. We talked about jeopardy the night before and she was so proud when she shared she knew the final jeopardy answer. She loved old game shows and old westerns and we would chat about how television wasn’t like it used to be. 
My mornings will have a void as they always  started with my coffee and a call  to my mother, as well as my evenings when I’d call as I was making dinner.  She always had to know what we were having for dinner and say I was a good cook. I’d joke I learned to cook from dad and she’d say you know I don’t like to cook. She looked forward to visits from her children, her grandchildren and great grand children and was fondly known as G Gram.  My siblings worked effortlessly this past year to make sure she had everything she needed. It takes  a village, as one would say, and Helen’s  children, their spouses, grandchildren, and neighbors and friends made certain she was able to stay in the home she loved. 
Thank you also to her church for their support when Helen could no longer attend service.  The calls, cards and visits meant the world to her. 
Thank you all for your kindness, love and support during the loss of our mother.

My mom is gone… My best friend for life… I am lost without her… There are no words that can express how much I will miss my mom.  She taught me how to love unconditionally. She taught me how to forgive.  My  life will never be the same without her in it !  Anyone  who knew Helen May   loved her!   She  was the strongest woman I will ever know. I miss you so much Mom!  I will love you forever.   

Such a sweet beautiful lady!! I can’t think of one time I wasn’t in the car with Cindy that she didn’t say you mind if I call my mom! She was a force to be reckoned with and her Cindy was her rock!! She loved her family and her great grandson Dakota was the twinkle in her eye!! She was loved and had a great sense of humor. I’m know she will be missed!

Helen was a great neighbor we would chat on the sidewalk , she always came to our fireworks party and would sit and talk with my mom, and would tell us to have our guests park in her driveway . it was always a pleasure to have Helen around we moved 4 years ago and she would call us to see if we like the house and would talk a while. We stopped with our grandkids before Christmas and she gave them both a donut which they loved when I told them she had passed my oldest said is she the lady that gave us the donut and I said yes she said she was nice. Paul and I will miss her and the family she was blessed to have such a wonderful family.

I was Helen's mail carrier for 7 years, until May 2023. It was always a pleasure when I had the opportunity to talk to Helen or when I could check on her. She was an absolute sweetheart to me!! As is the rest of Helen's family that I've met over the years!! Helen will be greatly missed!!!
