Jose Guadapupe Guillen

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Jose Guillen, passed away on June 9, 2014. He was born on May 7, 1924 in La Cañada Flintridge, California and was raised in Fabens, Texas.

In 1955 he moved to Roseville to start a new life with his wife and four small children. Jose worked for many years at the Gladding McBean Company in Lincoln, CA and then for Ralph’s Grocers in Southern California. His children and especially all his grandchildren were his passion. He enjoyed home improvement projects and seeking out treasurers at thrift stores to mom’s dismay. Jose also had many friends and cared for his neighbors.

Jose is preceded in death by his parents, Eduardo and Rosalia Guillen and his son, David Guillen. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Victoria and his three children, Sam (Sara), Yolanda (Sam), Alicia (Gus), his nine grandchildren (Angelique, Eric, Joe, Sammy, Steve, Micole, Gus, Sandra and Sasha). Jose also leaves behind eight great grandchildren (Kiana, Leah, Naiya, Alex, Aadan, Evan, Emma, and Josef). Jose also leaves behind his siblings Luz, Lee, Alejandra and Daniel.

Jose was never alone and always surrounded by family. He leaves us but his memory will last a lifetime. His faith in God, his devotion to his wife, children and grandchildren are his legacy.

Viewing is at Lambert’s Funeral Home, 400 Douglas Blvd., Roseville, CA. , on Thursday, June 12, 2014, from 4 – 7 p.m. Funeral Service will be held Friday, June 13th at 10:30 a.m. followed by interment at Roseville Cemetery.
