Tony was born on October 25th, 1958, in Roseville, California, to Tony and Guadalupe “Lupe” Fuentes. After graduating from Roseville High School in 1978, he began working for Placer County in the Roads Department. He continued working there for 35 years until he retired in 2013.
In 1978, Tony fell in love with and married Maria Fuentes and they never left each other's side for 45 years. Together, Tony and Maria were blessed with three children: Anthony, Amanda, and Melissa.
Tony had a deep love for both his family and his friends. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed help on a project. Whether it involved fixing a house, a fence, or a car, Tony was the go-to guy who people relied on for knowledge and help.
Tony took immense pride in his job and cherished his co-workers. His favorite part of his job was when he would work up in Tahoe during the winters plowing snow. He would stay with his co-workers and loved cooking dinners for everyone. He would always come home proud of the work he did and enjoyed sharing his stories with his family. Tony also had a deep passion for hunting, sharing many memorable excursions with his close friend Gino, his father Lenardo, and Gino’s son Justin.
Family camping trips, particularly along the California coast, were treasured moments for Tony. He was an avid follower of top fuel NHRA races on TV and enjoyed them with his friend Henry and daughter Melissa. He also loved watching deer hunting shows, and he made it a family affair, insisting that everyone join him on early Saturday mornings. Tony had a fondness for birds, especially the two doves who would visit his backyard and the hummingbirds who he would see from his kitchen window.
Tony had a love for food. He took pride in his garden, where he grew fresh jalapenos. He also loved cooking and barbecuing for friends and family. His love for culinary adventures extended to trips to Atlantis with his wife, Maria, and friends Gino and Sylvia, where they gambled and enjoyed eating Seafood. Tony's love for food and his commitment to his community was evident through his active involvement in the Lincoln Lions Club and his dedication to volunteering at their annual crab feeds.
Nothing brought Tony more joy than being needed and useful. He was ever-eager to assist, whether it meant whipping up a meal, fixing something, or simply being there for his loved ones. He welcomed Amanda and Melissa's friends into his home with open arms, ensuring they never left hungry.
Tony is preceded in death by his son Anthony, his parents Tony and Lupe, his father-in-law Ernest, and his brothers-in-law Americo “Rick” and Florentino. He also rejoins his dear friend Sylvia and his cherished dogs Coco and Jack.
Tony is survived by his loving wife Maria and their faithful dog Wilbur, as well as his daughters and their families: Amanda, Chris, and Ashlyn Evans, and Melissa, Blaise, and Ella Bertucci. His mother-in-law, Magdalena Gamboa, and his five siblings also carry forward his memory.
Tony's legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23: 1-6
