My condolences to the family.  I did not know Mr. Labelle, but I had to write to say how clever was the obituary. I don’t read obituaries but this one caught my eye. It was a wonderful tribute to him.

Thank you Joe for all the memories with the Squires, St Brendan council and J Adrian Chabassol Assembly. You were a great mentor in the past 12 years of my Knighthood

We started at ten in the morning and by ten-thirty, most members had arrived.  As we got ready for lunch, Joe usually came in with a big smile for everyone.  He was always interested in somehow getting us to make some money to save our little Rosemount Almage Group.  God bless you Joe - we shall miss you.  

No matter what, Joe always had a smile. He is in heaven with his beautiful wife, Nora.  Sincere sympathies to his wonderful family.....

My mother and I just took a wonderful walk down memory lane viewing all of the photos.  We always knew Joe was well-liked, but it was very obvious that he was also well-loved.   Joe was one of a kind.

Thank you so much for building this beautiful web page.  As someone who never had the privilege of growing up with the extended Labelle clan, it was so nice to go through all the photos and see so many faces.  
I had the opportunity to meet Uncle Joe several years ago in Montreal - it was a visit I'll always remember.  We managed to stay in touch after that through emails and the odd phone call.  It wasn't much but at least it was something.  He was a wonderful man with an enormous heart, always expressing empathy and concern for others.  He had an incredible life, and all of you were the reason why.  As hard as it is right now, it's hard not to celebrate the great life he had, the gift he was to everyone, and everyone that was a gift to him.

I vividly remember trying to hide the fact I dropped the toothpaste down the toilet, visiting the cottage with my sister, and playing with Bonnie. He caught me when I fainted down the stairs on Melrose and was my ambulance driver on a few occasion. At Christmas, he gave Linda and me each a gift wrapped with pink twin & blue twin written on top and told us to fight for the right 🎁 gift…that was Uncle Joe, the prankster. He never stopped calling us “twin”! You will be sorely missed…Twin Lynne

What can I say about My Uncle Joe, words will never be enough.    

When you were with him you always heard laughter, you always felt a zest for life and fun, he made you feel special in his presence, you knew that each visit was about making new connections and memories.  Growing up with Joe in my life, was always knowing you were loved and that the bond was truth in itself.    

I Know Joe Labelle never met a stranger in his life, everyone was a connection to a smile, to a story, to moment, to a life time, he connected with people.  

I will for ever smile and laugh to myself when I remember my personal moments, his joy, his heart, his generosity and his gentle kindness.....    

We need More Joe Labelle's in our world, I am grateful to have had one, my uncle Joe!!
