Jerrel E. Richardson

Mr. Richardson was born in Lafayette, GA. June 29, 1934, son of the late James Emmett Richardson and Mary Elizabeth White Richardson. He was raised in Lafayette, GA. where he graduated from Lafayette High School in 1952. He later joined the Navy where he proudly served for 2 years during the Korean Conflict. He then continued his education and graduated from West Georgia College and later began working for Temple Inland in the Woodland Division as Director of Purchasing for 41 years. He was very actively involved in all the activities of his children while they were attending West Rome High School. He enjoyed coaching pee wee and little league baseball, and loved bowling and fishing. He and his wife Carolyn were both members of Westminster Presbyterian Church. He was a loving father and husband and will be greatly missed.

Mr. Richardson is survived by his wife Carolyn Richardson to whom he was married for 53 years, one son Jeffrey Scott Richardson and his wife Kim of Rome, 3 daughters Robin Elizabeth Wilkinson and her husband Scott of Acworth, Lori Burgess and her husband Brad of Rome, Lisa Rogers and her husband David of Huntsville, AL; 7 grandshildren Josh and Jake Richardson, Leah Wilkinson, Griffin and Ela Grace Burgess, Anna and Jewell Rogers, and one sister Amelia Gibby.

A memorial service for Mr. Richardson will be conducted Friday January 13, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Rome, GA with Rev. Tom Wood officiating. The family will receive friends Friday at the church from 2:00 until the funeral hour.
