Edward Marvin Henderson

Edward M. Henderson, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2021. Mr. Henderson was born March 6, 1945, to the late Fred M. Henderson and the late Sara J. Henderson of Rome. He graduated from East Rome High School in 1963, served in the United States Air Force and graduated from Berry College in 1972. He was married to the late Lesley J. Henderson on December 27, 1973. Ed worked as an accountant for Read, Martin, and Slickman, where he was a partner from 1978 until his retirement in 2008. Through the years Ed was active in the United Way, the Exchange Club of Rome, and The Boys and Girls Clubs of Rome. Ed enjoyed traveling with his family and friends and was always up for a drink and story-telling downtown. He had a love for sports, and when he wasn’t at the games, he could be found in his recliner watching them on TV. His granddaughters were the light of his life, and he loved telling people about them. He is survived by his three sons: Eric Henderson (Courtney), Blake Henderson (Amanda,), and Mark Henderson; his three granddaughters: Ryan, Morgan and Joley, and several nieces.
