Mrs. Santor was born in New York, NY, on February 4, 1933, the daughter of the late John LaPuma and Alvina Difiore LaPuma. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Santor, on March 2, 1992.
Mrs. Santor was employed at Trend Carpets from 1972-83 in accounts payable and then as administrative assistant at the Rome Psycho Ed Center until her retirement in 1996. With her husband, she also owned and operated the Dari Delite for a number of years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where she enjoyed her choir and handbells. She was also a member of the St. Theresa Guild and the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. She also served as a volunteer with Heyman HospiceCare.
Survivors include two daughters, Corinne Slack (John), Marietta, and Loretta Barwick (Russell, Sr.), Rome; five grandchildren, Russell Barwick, Jr., Laura Barwick, Lacey Barwick, Megan Slack and John Slack; and one sister, Catherine Cardillo, Mt. Kisco, NY.
A funeral mass will be held Saturday, September 3, 2011, at 12 noon at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Patrick Kingery and Deacon Stuart Neslin officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Michael Cardillo, John Treadwell, Jeff Barwick, Russell Barwick, Jr., John J. Slack and Frank Curti. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Diadotti, Fred Naiser, Steve Bobowiec, Ken Patton, Kenneth Moyers, Neil Sanders and Ciro Pena.
A Rosary will be held in the chapel of Daniel’s Funeral Home on Friday, September 2, 2011, at 5:30 p.m. followed by a visitation from 6 until 8 p.m.
