Terue "Terry" Yoshida Taylor

Terry Taylor was born to the late Motohiro and Chiyo Yoshida on April 9, 1927 in Tokyo, Japan where she lived through 1954. At age 27, she married her first husband, John Jordan. They met at the military mess hall in Japan where she was working as a server and he was serving in the United States Army. After marrying at the US Embassy in Japan, they moved to Naples, Italy where Terry Taylor gave birth to her first and only child Kathleen Jordan on January 19, 1959. Terry and John Jordan parted ways in 1963, and Terry and Kathleen moved to Bentonville, Arkansas with John Jordan’s mother and husband, Jane and JT Garren. It was during this time Terry Taylor was led to Jesus Christ. She was baptized and accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her.

Terry Taylor met her husband, Clarencie Taylor on a blind date on Valentine’s Day in 1969. She quickly fell in love with the kind-hearted country man and married him within 2 months on April 21,1969, becoming a blended family gaining 5 more children: David Taylor, Steve Taylor, Pam Taylor, Kevin Taylor, and Danny Taylor. Together, Terry and Clarencie purchased a little white house with 4 acres on Seminole Drive in Rogers, Arkansas where they lived together for 46 years until her beloved husband Clarencie Taylor was called home to be with Jesus on January 12, 2016.

In addition to being a dedicated wife and loving mother, she was a committed employee and a hard worker. She worked for Bear Brand Hosiery for twelve years from 1965 until their closing in 1977. She went on to work for Union Carbide for another twelve years from 1977-1989 upon her retirement. Even after retirement she went back to work for a 1 year in the Rogers Walmart craft and fabric department.

In her free-time she loved gardening, socializing, crafting, shopping, and baking. She and Clarencie Taylor were active members of Sunnyside Baptist Church in Rogers, Arkansas where they had many friends and enjoyed community dinners and activities.

Terry Taylor joins her husband, Clarencie Taylor, her stepchildren, David Taylor, Kevin Taylor and Pam Taylor, her parents, and her first grandchild Archel “Cyr” Lawson in Heaven.

She is survived by: her only daughter, Kathleen Hansel-Jordan; two sons, Danny Taylor and Steve Taylor; one sister, Kazuyo Ito; niece, Yuko Takatani; nephew, Kazuhiko Ito; her three grandchildren, Levi Lawson, Selena Terue Mitchell and Patrick Gy Lawson; and her seven great-grandchildren, Kamryn Lizbeth Lawson, Emma Grace Lawson, Ciera Jordan Lawson, Landon Gy Lawson, Kimiko Mae Mitchell, Kenzo Rashaud Mitchell, and Dean Cyr Lawson.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 3 from 10:00-11:00am at Rollins Funeral Home. A service will immediately follow starting at 11:00am.
