Larry Ray Long, 74, of Des Arc, AR passed today in Searcy. Larry was an ornamental ironworker creating works of art all around the river valley. Everyone he worked with knew him as Jack. He started working for Burl Cagle "Cagle Irons" in 1964 in Fort Smith and worked without hardly ever taking a day off for 42 years. Larry was born on April 14th 1947 and is survived by his brother Ronald Gene of Springdale, sister Mary Clardy of Rogers and sister Nina Lynch of Rogers. He was preceded in death by his sister Linda Long of Fort Smith. Larry is also survived by his son Danny Long of Jenny Lind, son David Long of Van, Buren, son Christopher Long of Bentonville, daughter Jamie Baier of Ozark and son Joseph Long of Poteau, Ok. Also survived by his grandkids Chelsea Alexander of Fort Smith, Nicholas Long of Van Buren, Bailey Long of Muldrow, Ok. Joel Baier of Ozark, Zachary Cardwell of Ozark. Addie Long of Bentonville, Riley Long of Bentonville. There will be no funeral services but a Memorial with a burial at Cemetery Ridge in Paris will be determined at a later date.
