Lanny “Phil” Dean, 74, of Randleman, North Carolina sadly departed this life on March 23, 2024. He was born on July 16, 1949 in Kennett, Missouri to the late Douglas Sherman Dean and Virginia Lafurn (Lemonds).
Phil is preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Kay Dean; brother Douglas Dean and grandsons Phil Marion Cook and Joshua Douglass Hall.
He retired from Tyson Foods as a Purchasing Manager. Phil had a great passion for sports, particularly college basketball. He played football in high school and played softball with his brothers. He served for his country in the Navy during Vietnam War era. He enjoyed fast cars, reading, working puzzles, attending his great grandkids sports activities, birthday parties and many more family activities. He was very family oriented.
He found solace and spiritual guidance at Freewill Baptist Church where he worshipped.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Phil had a deep love for his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He is survived by his daughters, Mary Ellen Hall and husband Lenny of Randleman, NC, Terri Cook and husband Tim of Jay, OK, and Kemily Harper of Bella Vista, AR. Brothers, Dennis Ray Dean (Donna), Bruce Dean (Angie) and sister, Connie Elam (Mike), and many nieces and nephews. He cherished his role as a Grandpa to Wesley (Stephanie), Matthew, Spencer, Aaron (Kelsi), as well as his great-grandsons, Brody, Xander and Mackai.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, March 29, 2024 at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers, Arkansas, with burial to follow at Benton County Memorial Park.
Lanny Phil Dean will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His kindness, dedication, and zest for life will forever be remembered. May he rest in peace.
