Jim led a rich and fulfilling life, leaving behind cherished memories for his family and friends. He went to school in Rogers. He worked with his dad in the poultry industry in his younger years; then he was a highwayman in Houston, TX. He worked as a machinist for Crane Valve in Rogers for 34 years. After he retired he made deliveries for D&G Sales for his best friend Leon Chadwick. He was an avid sportsman, and fish and deer feared him. Jim was a loyal Razorback fan, he had a large vegetable garden that provided many, many jars of canned goods, and he loved reading & assembling jigsaw puzzles. He was a devoted father and beloved grandfather, but his most important accomplishment was that he had been married to his bride Carol for 52 years.
Jim is preceded in death by his father Carl Patton Sr, his mother Maurie Marler Patton, his son James Patton, his daughter Sheryl Bingham, & his sister Sharon Latta.
He is survived by his wife Carol Patton of Lowell, AR, his son Rick and wife Toni Patton of Bentonville, AR, his four grandchildren Michaela Patton and Morgan Patton of Bentonville, AR and Aaron and Tanner Bingham of Eden, Texas, and his brothers CH Patton of Houston, TX & David Patton of Alabaster, AL.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 26th at Rollins Funeral Home from 10:00-11:00am, with service immediately to follow at 11:00am. Burial to follow at Ruddick Cemetery in Garfield, Arkansas. A reception will be held afterwards at the home of Jim & Carol Patton, 318 Homewood Place, Lowell, AR.
