James “Jim” Norvell, 82, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2012, in Jamestown Nursing & Rehab facility in Rogers, AR. He was born in Terry County, Texas on September 23, 1929 to Ruben and Lillian (Moore) Norvell. He joined the U.S. Army in 1951 and served time in Germany during his two-year enlistment. He was a retired carpenter.
Jim married the love of his life, Marie (French Haggard), January 3, 1973 in Seguin, TX. They were married for 16 years and lived in North Little Rock, AR. After Marie’s passing, Jim moved to Garfield, AR where he lived with his sister and brother-in-law, Towanda and Percy Barnett, for the next 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marie; two sisters, Towanda Barnett and Carrie Nell Henry; and a nephew, John Norvell.
He is survived by two brothers, Kelly Norvell of Aransas Pass, TX and Philip Norvell of San Antonio, TX; and his nieces and nephews and their families, Charles Barnett, Bella Vista, AR; Jerry Barnett, Elkins, AR; Cherlene Artman, Springfield, MO; Linda Ausmus, Houston, TX; Walter Henry, New Mexico; Karen Henry, Sharon Noe and Debbie Longoria all of San Antonio, TX.
Services for Jim will be 2pm Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers with a visitation preceding the service from 12 – 2pm at the chapel.
