Hilda spent most of her life in Des Moines, Iowa and was married two times. Her second marriage was to Keith Monroe on April 14, 1980. They raised three boys together; Mike Bullock, Charles Monroe, and Jon Monroe.
She held several jobs. She was a housekeeper, a daycare provider, and a bar manager at the American Legion in Des Moines.
For the last three years, she and Keith traveled back and forth from Des Moines, IA and Eureka Springs, AR, visiting family.
Hilda was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Hildagard Long.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Keith; her three sons; her siblings, Betty Long, Charles Long, and Rusty Long; ten dear grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
