Donna Sharon Gentry, 70, passed away at Mercy Hospital in Rogers September 14 after a long illness. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Springdale.
Donna was born March 29, 1946, in Hot Springs. She earned a BA in Psychology from Baylor University, and a MSW from Florida State University. She practiced as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida, Fort Smith, and Northwest Arkansas. She was the first director of Habberton House in Springdale before working many years as a medical social worker at Washington Regional Medical Center.
She is survived by her partner, Sally Hunt; her mother, Helen Standiford; one daughter, Kerry Hayes of Fayetteville; two grandsons, Nathan and C.J. Hayes of Rogers, son-in-law, Phillip Hayes and Kerri Grigg; her former husband, George Gentry; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Tricia and Wayne Story of Fayetteville; Kathy and Tyrell Patton of Alma; and Jeanie and Darrell Jones of Fort Worth, Texas; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, A.J. Standiford.
