Marlene Hartstein

Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Marlene Barnett Hartstein passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 25, 2012. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Arthur Hartstein, and her daughters Bonnie Hartstein (Gal) Shweiki, and Diana (Peter) Beinart and four grandchildren. A reading specialist for 20 years, teaching children was her gift. She made a deep impression even on those who knew her only briefly. During her long struggle with cancer, her courage and joy inspired many and serves as a model for all of those who remember her with love.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 30 - 10 AM at Danzansky-Goldberg Memorial Chapels Inc. 1170 Rockville Pike, Rockville MD 20852. Interment to follow at 1 PM at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. The family will receive friends Monday and Tuesday evening from 6 - 9 PM at the Hartstein residence.
