On Sunday, December 29, 2013, Julius Sydney Rubel of Longboat Key, Florida. Beloved wife, the late Joyce Saks Rubel and loving partner of 25 years Frances Ross; devoted father of three daughters, Judith Rubel Atkins and partner David Owens of Gadsden, Alabama, Susan Rubel Zuker and husband Joel Zuker of New York, New York, Carol Rubel Berman and husband Gary Berman of Bethesda, Maryland; seven grandchildren, Alicia Bradford and husband Michael, Sydney Morgan and husband Bryan, Alison Gould and husband David, Katy Cooperman and husband Jesse, Kevin Berman and wife Devorah, Adam Berman and wife Emily, and Casey Berman and wife Emily; nine great-grandchildren with two on the way, Nicole, Hannah, Samantha, Max, Zoe, Jake, Jonah, Caleb and Zachary; loving brother of the late Irving Rubel of Birmingham, Alabama, Ann Rubel Roth of Glencoe, Illinois. His daughters thank his amazing caregivers, especially Debbie, whom he loved very much. Private graveside funeral.
