By all accounts it was a life well lived. It is his family’s hope that the pain and suffering of the recent past can be replaced with a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment for having lived such a fine life and having enhanced so many others.
Ross leaves behind his adoring wife, Denice, who wrapped him in the warmth of her love for many years. His four children, Joanne (Randy) Thompson, Glenn (Laura) Colquhoun, Lorrie (Alan) Dyck, Craig (Ashleigh) Colquhoun, his 12 grandchildren and 10 (+1) great-grandchildren will cherish the warm and loving relationship they shared and their many memories made on the innumerable family vacations through the years.
Ross retired as Chairman of the Board of The Raymond Corporation leaving a long and storied career where he most liked to think of himself as a teacher. In his own words, “Ross Colquhoun helped ‘x’ number of people become what they insisted upon becoming.” Many, many people in Ross’ life will put themselves in that category.
He was a kind and generous man who will be missed by all who knew him. When Ross said “I’ve got an idea”, you always knew you were in for something epic.
A Celebration of Life is being planned to honor Ross in Canada in the not too distant future. Please check back to this site for specific details.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Ross’ name with check payable to The Children’s Hunger Project, 26 Forrest Avenue, Cocoa, Florida 32922.
