Robert Lee Perry, 81, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on May 3, 2015. He was born July 17, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan, to Robert and Irma Perry. He was their only child. They moved to Illinois in 1952.
He proudly served in the US Army and was stationed in Nuremberg, Germany 1954-1955.
He married Norma Robinette on June 20, 1959. He was thrilled to become a father of twins a couple years later. With a son and daughter, his family was complete. He moved to Melbourne, Florida in 1969. He worked for Space Coast Credit Union for 18 years. Following that, he went into real estate and worked for Jim Hannon Century 21, and National Realty. He moved to Suntree in 1979, and lived on Sunnybrook Lane, until 1998.
He had very fond memories of all his friends and the great times he had there.
He also loved his neighborhood, and all his wonderful friends at Misty Creek. He served as President, and Vice President of the HOA, and felt honored to do that. He was a member of Sun Coast RVers group, 1998-2014. He enjoyed traveling with this group of friends, and often served as Wagon Master.
One of the biggest joys of his life was becoming a grandfather. From hanging lizards from his earlobes, to smoking a hookah, going target shooting in the woods, or tasting apple pie moonshine…there wasn’t anything his grandkids couldn’t talk him in to doing.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Norma Perry, his twins Kevin Perry and Karen Obarski, and his grandchildren Tyler Obarski, Tate Obarski, and Sarah Obarski.
There will be a celebration of his life on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 11:00 am.
