Michael (Mike) was born on August 22, 1950, in Wayne, New Jersey, to Ethel and Edward Grunder. The eldest child, he was raised in New Jersey with his three siblings, Ellen, John, and Kathleen. After high school, Mike joined the United States Air Force, becoming a drill sergeant, a fact his children would never forget. After serving his country, Mike went to work for Grumman St. Augustine where he met his wife of 36 years, Terry. He worked for Grumman as a financial analyst until his retirement in 2007.
Mike will be remembered for his intelligence and strength. He was active in his community, serving on community and church boards and in the Knights of Columbus. He was a man of many interests and talents, including photography, woodworking, music, and his kids. He was a prolific reader, instilling a love of learning and an always do your best attitude in his children. He encouraged them to always “be impressive”, something for which they will always be grateful.
He was welcomed in Heaven by his parents and his sister, Ellen. He is survived by his wife, Theresa; five children, Edward, Kathleen, Christine (Casey), Jennifer, and Joshua (Richelle); and his three grandchildren, Reagan, Eleanor, and Miles. They and his extended family will miss him dearly.
Mike’s grandchildren adored their Pop and he was the best husband, father, and grandfather anyone could have.
A Celebration of Life for Mike will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 11 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Community, 5655 Stadium Pkwy, Melbourne, FL 32940.

In the mercy of God, may he rest in peace.
