Jocelyn Helen (Camacho) Hithersay, aged 93, peacefully departed this world on November 18, 2023, in Merritt Island, FL. She was one of eight siblings and a native of the beautiful island of Antigua, West Indies, born in St. John's on November 13, 1930.
In the early 1960s, Jocelyn embarked on a journey to America, where she began a new chapter in her life in the Washington, DC area. She met and married her partner of 25 years, Thomas Price. Jocelyn and Thomas were blessed with two wonderful children Kimberly and Kevin and lived in Virginia, Pennsylvania, North & South Carolina, and Florida as a Marine Corps family.
Proudly serving as a military wife and mother eventually led Jocelyn to Brevard County in 1971, where she embraced her new home and became a US citizen in 1980. She found fulfillment as a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker, while working as a secretary for NASA until her well-deserved retirement.
After enjoying a fulfilling marriage of 25 years, Jocelyn was blessed with finding love for a second time with Ernest Hithersay. Jocelyn and Ernest enjoyed celebrating their golden years together traveling and enjoying life.
A devout Catholic, she found solace and community at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, where her faith played a central role in her life. She lived by the principles of kindness, compassion, and love, leaving an indelible mark on those who crossed her path.
She was a woman of many passions. She enjoyed traveling, playing tennis, cooking delicious meals, playing the piano, relaxing on the beach, and gatherings with family. Her cherished dog, Heidi, was a constant companion, providing unconditional love and companionship after the untimely passing of her beautiful daughter, Kimberly.
Known for her infectious laughter and unwavering positivity, she brightened every room she entered. Her outlook on life served as an inspiration to all who knew her.
Jocelyn is survived by her loving son Kevin Price, her sister Jeannette Johnson, and numerous extended family members and friends from Florida, Antigua, and Virginia. She is predeceased by her daughter Kimberly Price, first husband Thomas L. Price, second husband Ernest Hithersay, and siblings Trixie Gomez, Eric Camacho, Audrey Sopotnick, Carmen Roubo, John Camacho, Olive Camacho, Genevieve Jardine, and her beloved dog Heidi.
Jocelyn's spirit will forever be alive in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
A gathering of family and friends for Jocelyn will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 11:30 AM at Life Event Center At Florida Memorial, 5950 S US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL 32955, followed by a celebration of life at 12:30 PM.
