Joan C. Riordan

Born Joan Marie Cairns in Ft. Pierce, FL on November 3, 1931. Joan married Robert Allen on October 11, 1953 and moved to Palm Bay, FL in 1960. Joan was long time member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Melbourne, Florida. They had 5 children together. Robert preceded Joan in death in 2001.

Joan was blessed to be reconnected with former high school friend, Denis Riordan and they married February 12, 2005 and moved to Gilchrist County, FL. They enjoyed 10 years together before Denis’ passing in April, 2015.

Joan is survived by two sisters; Mary McAvoy and Helen Barrington, (was preceded in death by brothers James and Michael Cairns), she is survived by her five children; Michael Allen, Gail Allen Kettner (Kevin), Joyce Allen Sanchez (Bill), Steve Allen (Kim), Brian Allen (Gwen), and Denis’ children Timothy Riordan (Susan), Sheila Lovelace (Mike), Terrence Riordan (Kathy), Denis Riordan Jr. (Margaret), Patrick Riordan (Araceli), John Riordan (Suzanne), Matthew Riordan (Annmarie), Brian Riordan (Patti), 35 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL from 6-8 pm on Friday, November 13, 2015. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, November 14,2015 at 11 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 5330 Babcock St. NE Palm Bay, FL 32905.
