After graduation from high school, Jack served 4 years in the Air Force. His service took him to Korea and then Patrick Air Force Base. While attending church in Melbourne, Florida, Jack met the love of his life Sandra and they were married for 59 years.
Jack then attended Auburn University and thus began his passion for Auburn sports and several generations of Auburn grads and fans would follow.
After graduation in 1961, returning to Melbourne, Jack began a career of 30 years as a Contract Negotiator with Civil Service for the Air Force Eastern Test Range at Patrick Air Force Base. After retirement he began a second, very enjoyable, career of 20 years delivering flowers for Designs of the Times Florist.
Jack was an active deacon of First Baptist Church of Melbourne serving the Lord and church in many capacities for over 50 years.
His passion was softball, as he played and coached for over 40 years. Jack loved his family dearly and made friends with everyone he came in contact with.
Jack is survived by his wife, Sandra; daughter, Vicki Lavendol (Jeff), sons John (Teri) and Keith (Gayle). He has five grandchildren, Cara (Ray), Jena, Aubree, Tucker, and Grace. Jack has two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Rebecca.
A visitation from 12:30-2 p.m. and funeral service at 2:00 p.m. will be held on June 17, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Melbourne. Burial will follow at Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge, FL.
