Helen was born on October 9, 1923 in Youngstown, Ohio. She passed away on May 3, 2020 in Melbourne, Florida. Helen lived in Liberty Township, and graduated from Liberty High School. After high school and through World War 2 she worked for Copperweld Steel Company in Warren, Ohio. In June, 1947, she married Lyle Jewell, they had four children. In 1963 the family moved to Indialantic, Florida. There she worked for W.T. Grant Co, Boeing and Radiation which became Harris. After retirement she and Lyle made and sold craft items. Throughout her life she was active in her church. At the Oceanside Community Church she worked in the women’s programs and played organ into her later years. She memorized many passages in the Bible.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Erma Koby, and her husband, Lyle Jewell. She is survived by four children, Ron Jewell of Melbourne, Greg Jewell of Dover, Florida, Denise Elders of Okeechobee and Debbie Valliere of Palm Bay. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Tedd Jewell, Ben Jewell, Titus Jewell, Bethany Jewell, Josephine Elders, David Brown and Julianne Brown; and great grandchildren, Ava Jewell, Isabelle Jewell, Emma Brown, and Harrison Brown.
There will be a visitation on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at 2pm, with a funeral service to follow at 3pm at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial Gardens 5950 S US Hwy 1 Rockledge, FL .
