Carolyn was born, raised and married her late husband, Eugene ‘Gene’ Howard Hall, in Rome Georgia. Carolyn and Gene later moved to Valdosta, GA, for Gene’s service in the Air Force. After he completed his time in the service they purchased land and built a beautiful home in Cocoa on the Indian River. Sometime after Gene’s death, Carolyn purchased a condo in Rockledge FL, where she lived until her stroke about a year and half ago. On January 5, 2018 Carolyn would have been a widow for 31 years.
Carolyn was a long standing member of First United Methodist Church of Cocoa. She exemplified Christian beliefs through her daily habits, fellowship and positive attitude. Carolyn was not only a strong contributing member of her congregation, but she was also an active member in the community and City Council.
Carolyn began working at Trafford Realty as a secretary. Shortly thereafter, a position arose for the bookkeeper and Carolyn quickly received that position. Carolyn worked for Trafford for 44 consecutive years and continues to be well respected and praised by her colleagues for her invaluable contributions. She worked alongside her surviving 1st cousin, realtor Roy Berry, who continues to be an influential part of Trafford’s continued success.
In addition to her career, Carolyn was an active member of the XI Master Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi for 61 years before she changed her status to Member At Large in 2009. Carolyn served as Queen of the chapter for a period of time, as well as named Woman of the Year by her XI Master Chapter.
Carolyn was an only child. She has two surviving brother in-laws; Glenn Delano Hall (Rome, GA) and Jerry Ron ‘Ronnie’ Hall (Longwood, FL). In the year prior to Carolyn’s death, she lost her daughter Lori Lucille Montoya. Surviving children include her daughter, Jene Carol Henderson (Merritt Island, FL) and son, George Howard Hall (Charleston, SC). She has six grandchildren including Christopher Scott Henderson (Savannah, GA), Courtney Jene Henderson (Merritt Island, FL), Cameron Samuel Henderson (Stuart, FL), Benjamin Eugene Montoya (Merritt Island, FL), Lauren Paige Nero (Orlando, FL) maiden last name Montoya), Ryan Howard Hall (Charleston, SC) and Josh Bennett Hall (Summerville, SC). Carolyn has two great grandchildren, Bentley Christopher Hall (Summerville, SC) and Quinn Rae Nero (Orlando, FL).
Carolyn’s service will be held at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 South US highway 1, Rockledge, FL on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 2pm. Following the service, there will be a short processional to graveside. After which, the reception will be held at the Life Event Center to Celebrate the Life of Carolyn Hall. The services will be led by Congregational & Community Care Pastor, Janice Sheppard, as well as Senior Pastor, Corky Calhoun, of Georgianna United Methodist Church.
