Betty "Sue" Rogers, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2024, at the age of 86. Born on October 7, 1937, in Lancaster, South Carolina, Sue was the cherished daughter of Clayton and Ruth Starnes and the loving sister to Anne and Barry.
Betty Sue's journey of love and dedication began when she married Perry Rogers on February 13, 1960. Together, they built a family filled with joy and affection. Sue is survived by her children, Kathryn, Karen, and Benjamin; her grandchildren, Jeffery, Sarah, and William; and her great-grandchildren, Siena and Charlotte. Her family was the center of her world, and her love for them knew no bounds.
Before retiring, Sue dedicated her life to caring for others as a pediatrics and OB/GYN nurse. Her compassion and commitment to the well-being of children were evident in every aspect of her work. Sue had an incredible ability to nurture and support not only her own family but also countless others who were fortunate enough to be under her care.
Betty Sue was also a passionate birdwatcher, with a special fondness for bluebirds. Her love for nature was matched only by her love for her family, and she found great joy in the simple beauty of the world around her.
Her big heart, unwavering love for her family, and dedication to her profession will be deeply missed. Sue's legacy of kindness and care will continue to inspire those who knew her.
A visitation will be held at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, August 20th, at 10 a.m., with a service to follow at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Shriners Hospital for Children in Greenville, SC.
Betty Sue Rogers is remembered with love and admiration by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her memory be a blessing and her spirit continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched.
