Ruth A. Singery, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother, and friend, 84, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 26, 2024. Ruth was born July 2, 1940 in Arkansas, before moving to Rockford at the age of 10. She worked at Atwood for many years before retirement.
Ruth was good natured, kind-hearted, loving, and simply sweet. She enjoyed staying busy, whether it was reading or spending time outside. Ruth also loved flowers. Above all else, Ruth’s priority was her family. She cared so deeply for everyone in her family, and loved every opportunity she had to spend time with them. Ruth was an extremely dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Debbie Busker and Michael (Kim) Singery; grandchildren, Morgan Busker and Jessie Singery; many great and great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; many long time friends.
She was reunited with her daughter, Tammy Hamilton; grandchildren, Melissa Newman, Stacey Busker, Eric Hamilton, and Connor Singery; parents, Julius and Savannah Light; siblings, Beverly “Judy” Buchannan, Albert Light, Martha McWilliams, and Ray Light.
She will be forever missed, and her memory will long live on through those who loved her.
