Patricia Anne Kirby, age 93, of Rockford, Illinois passed away on Monday, October 14, 2024. She was born on January 9, 1931 to Kathryn (Faulds) and William Gorby in Coalmont, Indiana. Patricia married Harry Kirby on August 28, 1949, in Terre Haute, Indiana and they spent 55 wonderful years together before he passed in 2004. She held several jobs over the years including at Aeroline, Connor’s, Farm & Fleet, and waitressing at Wesley Willows. She attended the First Baptist Church of Pecatonica.
Patricia enjoyed watching the Cubs, listening to country music, and crocheting. She went on fishing trips to Canada with Harry and her sister and her husband, Janet and George. Most of all Patricia loved her family.
Patricia is survived by her children, Cheryl (Bruce) Morgan, Karla (John) Schmit, Kristi (Paul) Martin, Tad (Nancy) Kirby, and Russell (Summer) Kirby; twenty grandchildren; fifty-one great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Janet Cutsinger; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Kirby; daughter, Merri Kirby; grandson, Jesse Martin; parents, Kathryn and William Gorby; brother, Larry Gorby; and brother-in-law, George Cutsinger.
A visitation for Patricia will be held Monday, October 21, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Pecatonica, 819 Washington St, Pecatonica, IL 61063, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM.
Patricia will be laid to rest in Willwood Burial Park, 7000 West State Street, Rockford, IL 61102.
