Kathleen J. Olson

Kathleen J. Olson, 65 of Rockford IL passed away August 10, 2020. She was born December 13, 1954 to Anna and Stanley Lake, born and raised here in Rockford. She graduated from West High School. Kathleen went on to work with Valspar/ Sherwin Williams for 36 years until her retirement. She was a dedicated mother to her children, and was known as being a motherly figure to many. Everything from coaching softball, and involvement with girl scouts, Kathleen loved to be a supporting part of her children’s lives growing up. She married the love of her life, Randy Olson on May 22, 2003 after spending ten years together. They enjoyed hosting family holidays at their home, and gathering with loved ones. Kathleen’s special Christmas room brought joy all year long. Cow Grandma, is what she was lovingly called by her grandchildren, to honor her deep love of the animals. Kathleen was also an avid fisherwoman, and enjoyed camping and the outdoors. She also enjoyed flowers and landscaping her yard.

She is survived by her loving husband; Randy Olson, children; Heidi (Tommy) Lynx, Mitch Seehaver, Angela (Anthony) Seehaver, Stacy Olson(Tracy) Young, and Scott (Sarah) Olson, her grandchildren; Skylar (Kendra) Struven, Sarah Struven, Kreaden Lynx, Cody (Haley) Seehaver, Brandon Seehaver, Autumn Anderson, Zack Anderson, Devan Olson, as well as Sammy Olson, great grandchildren; Addelynne Seehaver, and Ryker Struven, siblings; Buddy (Margie) Lake, Barb Barger, Danny Lake, Bobby Lake, and Doug Lake, as well as her mother and father in law; Clifford and Mary Olson. She is also survived by her lovely pets; her dog; Lucky and cat Tom Cat, as well as numerous extended family members whom she loved dearly. The family would also like to acknowledge Kathleen’s dearest friend; Anna Holleman.

She is predeceased by; her daughter; Kiya Strawbridge, and parents; Anna and Stanley Lake, as well as many other family members.

Cremation Rites have been accorded and no services are scheduled at this time.
