Janet Cutler (nee Smith) passed away November 21, 2012 after suffering a stroke in September. She was born March 6, 1926, in Joliet, IL, the only child of Walter and Alberta B. (nee Eneix) Smith. She graduated from Joliet Township High School in 1944, and went to work at the Joliet Army Ammunition Plant for the remainder of WW II. She later took at job at Western Electric, Montgomery, IL, where she met her husband, Wilbur. The couple married August 8, 1952, in Chicago, IL, while Wilbur was on leave from active duty in Korea.
The couple resided in Joliet, IL, until 1973 when Wilbur's job as a Federal employee was transferred to the Quad Cities area, where they remained until he retired in 1986. During retirement, they resided in Fruitland Park, Florida, until returning to Illinois in 2009. She was an active member of the Unity Church of Christianity in both the Quad Cities and Florida, and was a long time member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Cantigny Post 367, Joliet, IL. She enjoyed baking and bingo, and had a deep love for cats.
She was preceeded in death by her parents and an infant daughter, June. She is survived by her husband, Wilbur "Bill" Cutler, and a daughter, Christine.
