Gary R. Perkins, 65, of Machesney Park, passed away August 18, 2021. He was born on May 30, 1956 in Rockford to James and Jackie (Hallden) Perkins. Gary was a graduate of Harlem High-School, and served the Rockford community in the local 32 labor union. He enjoyed fishing, and collecting various antiques and “neat” things. He was a devoted member of the Rock Run Long Rifles Gun Club. Gary loved the many adventures and time spent with his youngest, Alyzza. He was a dedicated father, and a loving grandfather. He will be missed by many.
He is survived by his children; Dana Perkins, Gary Perkins II, Cory (Lindsey) Perkins, Hope Perkins, and Alyzza Perkins, grandchildren; Victoria, Zayden, Jude, Dax and Finn, Daniel, Amelia, Dewan, Annebelle, and Kinsley as well as numerous siblings and extended family members.
He is predeceased by his parents as well as his brother.
A memorial gathering for Gary is scheduled for Friday, August 27 from 4:30pm to 6:30pm at Advantage Funeral Home. Located at 7000 W. State St. Rockford IL 61102. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family.
