Dorothy Hopper

Dorothy was born on November 28, 1935 in Clinton, TN, the daughter of Paul and Grace Foust. Dorothy married Lloyd Hopper on January 5, 1985. Dorothy loved to work in her flower garden, play cards, go to garage sales and collect cow figurines. She loved to travel, especially to see family in TN.

Dorothy is survived by her husband Lloyd; daughters Lisa (Dan) Cauley of Roscoe, Jackie Salazar of Decatur and Angie Faries of Rockford; sons Ralph Jay (Margie) Dobbs of Loves Park and John (Nadine) Hopper of Fort Bragg, N.C.; sister Mary (Ed) Colasanti of MI and brother Jimmy Foust of MI; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Martha McCluskey and brother-in-law Earl (Mary) Hopper; many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, son Thomas Hopper, grandson Jacob Zaiss Hopper, sister Bonnie Whiteaker and brother Dewey Foust.

A service to celebrate Dorothy’s life will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday February 7, 2015 at Advantage Funeral Home 7000 West State St. in Rockford. Visitation for Dorothy will be Friday February 6, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Machesney Park.
