Carl Windsor Giesler Jr, 72, of Rockford, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2020 and into the loving arms of his dear sister Jenny. Carl shared a very special bond with Jenny and loved to fly to Kansas City, MO to visit her. She enjoyed taking him out for K.C. Barbecue,Chinese food and pizza. He very much enjoyed his time with her and missed her phones calls and her visits to Rockford after her loss to cancer in 2015.
Carl was born in Frederick, Maryland on March 11, 1948. Even though Carl went through tremendous battles with his health he never ever complained. He enjoyed helping his mother shop for groceries, plant flowers and enjoyed going on picnics and fishing at the park. Carl loved going out to eat at his favorite places which was Culvers and Pino's. He also enjoyed all the group outings Olson Terrace provided and loved going to church. He enjoyed books and movies and loved drinking Coca-Cola. Carl very much enjoyed his job at Malcomb Eaton Enterprises.
Our family would like to thank all the staff at Olson Terrace Group Home for the absolute wonderful care they gave to Carl for 32 years. Also our family would like to send out a special thank you to Pete Herdklotz for his wonderful kindness to Carl over the years. Carl was truly a sweet kind soul and will be missed dearly by his loved ones and all his friends and staff at Olson Terrace. He is survived by his Brother, Ken (Deb) Giesler of Rockford,IL; Sister, Jackie (Kouri) Washington of Roscoe,IL; Brother-in-law, John Cadwell of Kansas City, MO; Nieces and Nephews: Jacob Miles of Rockford,IL, Michael Giesler of Rockford,IL; Ivy Shelden of Springfield,MO, Morgan Pippel of Machesney Park, IL, Lucas Miles of Loves Park,IL, Dallas Washington of Roscoe,IL.
