Bernard “Mike” F. Nelson, 93, of Roscoe, passed away on Saturday July 9, 2016. Born on March 3, 1923 in Rochelle, IL. Son of Berry and Edith (Sanders) Nelson. Veteran of United States Army having served in WWII. Married Shirley Joy on April 16, 1965. Employed by Firestone, Roco Tire, Midas Muffler and finishing his retirement at Bob’s Hardware. In his spare time he enjoyed working on cars. Spending time with his kids, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and faithful companions Sugar and Jeepers was what he enjoyed most.
Survived by his wife, Shirley; children, Michael (Melanie) Nelson and Christi (David) Lancaster; grandchildren, Michael, Jeff, Amy, Jess, Sarah, Kevin, Dane; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; son, Terry Joles; sister, Lucille.
