Timothy R. Swann

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.

Tim was born on December 14, 1951 in Moline, the son of Louis E. and Hazel B. (Brunk) Swann. He married Shari Sellmann on December 31, 1976 in Moline.

Tim was assistant chief of Public Safety at Augustana College, with 21 years of service at the college. During that time, he made many friends and enjoyed his Augustana family. Prior to his time at Augustana, he was employed by the former J.I. Case Company in Bettendorf.

Tim enjoyed fishing when he had the time, was proud of his record collection, and could often be found working in his garage or in the yard. His dry sense of humor, and his love for and pride in his family are a few of the many things he will be remembered for.

Survivors (and spouses) include his wife, Shari, Milan; daughters, Lisa (Scott) Riedesel, Mt. Vernon, IA, Jessica Swann, Milan, and Nikki (Matt) Lee, Rock Island; grandchildren, Dustin, Claudia, and Gavin, and many nieces and nephews.

His parents, brother, Jack Swann, sisters, Pat Runde and Sally BeDuhn, and a grandson, John, preceded Mr. Swann in death. He was very much loved by his family and will be sadly missed.
