Ruth A. Ward

Sadly our family lost our strong, fiercely independent, inspirational mother. Ruth, age 90, a lifelong resident of Rochester joyfully joined her best friend and dear husband Jack, all her siblings and many dear friends in heaven. She peacefully passed into the Lord’s arms at home with her family around her. Ruth is survived by her sons: John (Jonna) of Seattle, WA, Jim (Chris) of Peachtree City, GA, Joe (Lisa) of Laurel, MD, daughter Liz McKinley of Rochester; grandchildren: Bryan, Eric, Matt, Carson, Maggie, Hannah, Jessica, Corky and Phillip; great grandson Lyam; sister in law Peggy Wamser, many nieces and nephews; special friends Carol Byrnes, Christy (Chrissy) Peck, and Judy Roberts.

In keeping with Ruth’s wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no formal calling hours. Our family would like to extend an invitation to celebrate this incredible woman’s life, to share memories and to acknowledge the privilege we all had in knowing Ruth and learning “Ruthisms” on FRI, Aug 8th from 5-9PM at Steven-Connor Lodge, 2611 Pinnacle Rd, Rush, NY.

Ruth’s Funeral Mass will be held SAT. Aug 9th at 1PM at St. Monica’s, 34 Monica St. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to: In memory of Jack and Ruth Ward, Lifetime Care Hospice; In honor of grandson Senior Airman of USAF Eric McKinley, CURE CHILDHOOD CANCER Association; In honor of Liz McKinley, Harbor House of Rochester.
