Survived by his loving wife, Maryanne “Mame”; devoted children, Jaclyn (Christian) Posta, Paul (Jennifer) Matejcik, Maureen (Jeffrey) Radcliffe, Jane (Henry Hibbert) Matejcik; adoring grandchildren, Maddie and Claire Posta, and Jack and Nora Matejcik; sisters, Dorothy Cantrell, Gloria Novak, Virginia Shecton, Connie (Douglas) Roberts, Carol (Steven) LeMay, and many adored nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Nora Matejcik.
Jack was born November 28, 1949, in Gouverneur, NY. He graduated from SUNY Canton and RIT. From there he worked at GRS, Kodak, and retired from J&J Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics.
Jack was a member of Long Pond R&G Club, Pine Tree R&G Club, Four Points R&G Club, Scottsville Golf League, and the Ancient Order of the Hibernians. He was an avid sport fan of the Yankees, ‘Cuse, and the Giants.
Jack was fun loving, hardworking and loved by so many. His greatest joy was being with his family, watching them play sports, working on his camp, and entertaining his grandkids. He strived to instill a love for family, hard work, fun, and teaching everyone to enjoy the simple treasures of the outdoors, including fishing, hunting, and camping.
The family will receive relatives & friends on Sunday, August 25th, from 2-5PM at the Funeral Home of ALVAH HALLORAN & SON, 2125 Chili Ave., Rochester, NY 14624. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM on Monday, August 26th, at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 99 Main St., Scottsville, NY 14546.
