Norman Lee Eckert

NORMAN LEE ECKERT, age 92, of Almont, Michigan passed away at his home on Friday, December 18th, 2020. Norm was born on November 23rd, 1928 in Pontiac, Michigan to parents Earl and Mary Eckert. He married Rochelle Holm on March 29th, 1952 and they had three children together. He served in the United States Army in the Korean conflict and was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, where he achieved Admiral Status. He enjoyed photography, spending time on his boat, and building model ships. Later in life Norm spent many happy years with his long-time companion, Joan Ely.

Norm is survived by his children Michael (Vicky) Eckert and Denise Eckert; grandchildren Rachel Eckert and Marissa Eckert; and sister Barbara Newman. He is preceded in death by his parents Earl and Mary Eckert; wife Rochelle Eckert; daughter Paula Eckert; companion Joan Ely; and brothers James Eckert and Raymond Eckert.

Visitation will be at Pixley Funeral Home in Rochester, Michigan on Sunday, December 27th at 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. A memorial service will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The National Kidney Foundation or Disabled American Veterans.
