John P. Gerling

GERLING, John P., 99, of Rochester Hills, MI, passed away on January 11, 2019. He was born in Akron, OH, and went on to graduate from St. Bernard High School and receive his diploma. John was married to Mary Anne on March 17, 1945. He was a veteran of the WWII USAAF and then went on to have a career in the automotive industry, working for Chrysler Corporation. John is survived by his sons, Tim (Beth) Gerling and Geoff (Carol) Gerling; his 2 grandchildren; his 4 great grandchildren; his sister, Irene; and his daughter in law, Carol. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Anne; his son, John; and his siblings, Andy, Leo, Richard, Brigid, and Marie. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 1-8 PM, with a Funeral Service beginning at 7 PM, at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Dr., Rochester, MI.
