To the Perry Family,

I remember Jamie when I used to run with him and his brother Tom at Central Christian youth group in the mid 1970's and into 1980. He was a dear friend, and I always saw "Jesus" in him. The Perry family was so special. Another memory was helping fight a forest fire that his father invited me to assist with as a teenager when the alarm beeped in while visiting at their home. Remember manning the hoses with Jamie and Tom thru the night.  I miss dearly those days in the youth group and church there at Central Christian. Jamie and Tom were one of the first "teen group members" who welcomed me when I was saved and baptized at Central Christian. The whole family is in my prayers during your time of loss.

From the days of our 'food fights' in the kitchen at camp, when we were kids working there, to the frozen underwear when we were adults. You were like a brother to me. You and your smiling face will be truly missed. We are all blessed to know you.

Jamie was my friend. He was 20 and I was 22 when I moved to Pontiac, my first full-time ministry right out of college. I spent a lot of time at the Perry home. It became my home away from home. Dora and the kids have been a true blessing to me. They encouraged me and assisted me. Jamie told me that I needed to play the guitar if I was going to be a youth minister. So, he sent one my way (I still have it today), taught me a few basic cords. I learned to play some songs and it was good. My son learned on that same guitar and today he is the worship minister of a church in Indiana. It was my honor and privilege to perform the wedding ceremony for Jamie and Michelle, which was my very first wedding to officiate. I tell their wedding story, especially the part of flying away in the balloon, to most every couple I marry. A cool story about a very cool couple. Love you guys.

I extend to the Perry Family my prayers knowing that words of comfort cannot express your loss. I am Ms Vivian Reed Terry, James's third grade teacher at Will Rogers. I was shocked to read of James' homegoing today. I too remember his kind disposition; he was a warm gentle child with a beautiful smile. As you think about James and the blessed life you shared, remember God will take care of you. He will wipe away all of your tears in time.

Dora and Family, I was shocked to see this notice in the online newspaper. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.  We won't be back in Michigan from our winter home in Florida until the end of April.  I loved seeing all the pictures of the kids when they were young on this site.  That is how I remember your family.

Michelle, I am so so sorry to hear of your loss. Please know that you and your family will be in our prayers each and every day.

Jaime you were always there when I needed someone to talk to you always had great advice and you were there for all of us no matter what decisions we made in our lives you loved us all. I love you and I will miss you so much, I cant believe that you are gone, you may be gone but you will NEVER be forgotten you were and always will be the sweetest man ever...I hope you rest in peace in the arms of the lord safe with all the friends and family we have lost along the way...I will see you again someday when it is my time...I love you and I will never forget all the happy, sad and fun times we all shared back in youth group and years after...I love you

Jamie, Tom and I used to run around together.  In fact at times we were inseparable.  Even though my family moved away, Jamie and his family were always in my memory.

Jamie, you were such a kind and caring soul.  My family and I are so saddened and shocked.  I will miss your smile and your friendship.  Thank you so much for always caring and being so supportive.  You were a ray of sunshine no matter what life threw into the mix.  Your dedication to those around you and everything you did was a true gift . . To James and Philip, you and your father have been so helpful to our family.  Your dad meant more to me than you may have realized.  He will truly be missed.  I am so sorry for your loss!  My heart to you guys and the rest of your family!  If there is anything I can do, please let me know.  Both of you are such good men, and your dad was so proud.  I will see you at the service. Jamie, I am so glad we hooked up on facebook in the last year. It was great chatting with you & finding out that you & Jeff Schneider were still close friends. There were alot of good times between the Perry kids, Kell kids & Schneider kids... Rest in peace & prayers with LOTs of hugs & kisses for your family....

Jamie Perry must have had some really great adventure stories to share; from his hot air balloon days and work at the temple.  We would have loved to have heard some of them.
Jamie always had a pleasant smile on his face.
Jamie introduced our son, Chris, to his sister Karen.  When Chris and Karen got married, Ruth and I got two of the cutest grand children we could ever ask for.  Thank you Jamie!

I had not seen Jamie in a lot of years, but thanks to Facebook we were able to reconnect.  I did not know the entire Perry family, only Jamie and Chris, from our time at Wolverine Christian Service Camp and church functions.  I remember Jamie always being happy.  He always seemed to be smiling.  After reconnecting via Facebook it was always nice to see his smiling face on my computer everyday.  He will be greatly missed and I will really miss reading his posts.  Rest In Peace Jamie and my God comfort your family and friends during this difficult time.

I grew up on Allerton. I remember Jamie when he was little. Always laughing and playing. He enjoyed life. I will pray for the Perry Family. May God Bless

We were so sorry to hear of the loss of your loved one. We're sending you a hug from afar.

We were neighbors with the Perry Family on Allerton St.  Our Children and theirs grew up together.  Jamie was always smiling, always kind, and always a true friend. We are saddened to hear of his death, words cannot describe how we feel. May God give the Perry Family comfort and courage to bear their loss.

Jamie you weren't supposed to leave first.  You were going to be here forever, even if that's just a wish or a fantasy.  The pain is all consuming and I miss you horribly.  I keep waiting for my daily call at the office asking where your 50 bucks is.  I will forever love you my friend.  35  years is not enough.  I wanted another 35.

I knew James from the last 5 years. He was a nice man, friend always to help everyone out . He always had a smile on his face. He was a true friend. He was a hard worker and always took pride in his job.  When I heared about it I could not beleive it. One week ago I lost him from the Bharatiya temple and now from this world. My prayers are with his family . God give us all courage to bear the loss of a good father, husband,uncle and friend . May is soul rest in peace . A good friend will be missed.
