On October 29, 2021, Donna Gail White (nee Hanson) passed away peacefully surrounded by love. A Detroit native, Donna was born on September 9, 1937, she grew up in Romeo, Michigan with parents Earl and Ethel and brother Lynn. Donna attended the University of Michigan at the age of 16 and served as the editor of the Michigan Daily. After college, Donna’s parents and younger sister Penny moved to Tarpon Springs, Florida. Donna resided in Rochester, Michigan with her husband of almost 50 years, Dr. Daniel B. White. She was a passionate journalist, editor and Michigan football fan. When she wasn’t playing bridge, she also served as the president of the Crittenton Auxiliary and Meadowbrook Women’s Club. Donna was also a voracious reader and a gourmet cook. She enjoyed traveling, especially cruising, with husband Daniel and many friends.
Donna leaves behind husband Daniel, sons Christopher (Michele) and Jonathan, daughter Elizabeth, grandsons Benjamin, Nicolas, and Daniel. She was preceded in death by first husband Roger Young, son Jeffrey, and grandson Zachary.
