He was born in Royal Oak, Michigan on May 10, 1996. Blake graduated from Stoney Creek High School and received a B.A. in communications from Oakland University. He graduated as a tau sigma academic honor student.
Blake is survived by his parents Grant and Hannah Garrett, and his sister Brooklynne Garrett.
Blake was a thoughtful and caring man, who saw the beauty in those around him and always put others before himself. He loved to make others happy and had a special place in his heart for animals. Blake convinced his parents to adopt their beloved dog, Blue, a 120 pound Cane Corso that was abandoned in the streets of Detroit. As a symbol of his love for animals and helping others, en lieu of flowers, we encourage you to make a donation to the Michigan Humane Society, in Blake’s name. The money can be spent there in helping animals in need, which is what Blake would have wanted us to do.
