Rosemary Marston-Crump, beloved wife, step-mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend passed away on May 2, 2023. Rosemary was the oldest of two children born to Harold and Evangeline Marston on January 21, 1947 in Walsenburg, CO. She married Bob Crump on May 15, 1980 in the Salt Lake City Temple where they were sealed for time and all eternity.
Rosemary grew up in Westminster, CO and attended Westminster High School. After high school, she took several business courses in Denver before moving to Provo, UT to attend Brigham Young University. She earned her bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. She had a very successful career and made a significant impact in the engineering and aerospace industry. She was an early member and officer in the Utah Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction organization. She started her engineering career working at Coors Ceramics developing specialized products made for the military branches including the early stages of the space program. She later moved on to work at Hercules Aerospace in Magna, UT where she was the first woman to work as a senior project manager. She was most proud of the opportunity to work on the Space Shuttle program as the engineering master scheduler of the rocket boosters, which earned her a NASA jacket and the honor of watching the Space Shuttle launch.
Rosemary was an avid collector of many things. Her favorite collections were Belleek dishware, teddy bears, and cabbage patch dolls. She also loved tole painting, which allowed her to apply her love of detail to an artform. Friends and family were recipients of many of her collectibles and creations. She was “deeply in love” with Wayne Newton who she actually got to meet in person. She loved to brag about that experience for many years! One of her favorite things to do was to go on long rides with her husband to look at the fall leaves and nature, God’s creation. They both found peace and tranquility in those rides which allowed them to relax and enjoy each other’s company.
Rosemary was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed teaching children in Primary. She was very diligent in preparing and studying for those lessons. She enjoyed attending Relief Society and spending time with all of the sisters. She loved everyone in the ward and was willing to help wherever and whenever she was needed.
Rosemary and her mother had a very special relationship and unbreakable bond. Rosemary was a devoted daughter and adored her mother. She loved spending time with her whenever she could. She would call her every night and travel to Colorado to spend weeks, sometimes months, with her helping with yardwork, housework and anything else her mom needed.
Rosemary was blessed to have such a wonderful, loving husband who took care of her during the last few years of her life as her health was declining. He ensured she was well taken care of and received the utmost care from her health care providers. She loved and appreciated him dearly.
Rosemary is survived by her husband, mother, brother Barry Marston, step-children Charlene (Jimmy) Louder, Jeff (Tonya) Powell, Landen (JoDee) Crump, Candace (Brandon) Gregrich, 10 grandchildren, 3 nieces, a great-niece and a great nephew. She is preceded in death by her father.
