Kelly was born on May 23, 1975, to Mark and Rebecca Weight, and passed away peacefully at home on November 9, 2024. At two years old, she joined the loving home of Donna and Paul Glissmeyer, who welcomed her as one of their own. They cherished her deeply and devoted their lives to ensuring she was cared for and loved.
Kelly had a very large and loving family with her birth siblings—Juliet Salazar, Mark Antony Weight, Richard Taylor Weight, and Melanie Dawn Lloyd—as well as her Glissmeyer family siblings: Cheryl Ovard, Annette Jackson, Sandi Black, Bonnie Forrester, Kathy Heath, Stephen Glissmeyer, Nan Christensen, Don Glissmeyer, Mike Glissmeyer and well over 150 grandchildren with her combined families.
Kelly was lovingly cared for by Clayne and Annette Jackson’s family. Together with their children, Kelly enjoyed a fulfilling life, attentive medical care, services that ensured her comfort, happiness, and safety, and a home filled with love, laughter, and companionship. Kelly received devoted care, enjoying a fulfilling life surrounded by those who cherished her.
Kelly’s infectious giggles, playfulness, and unique spirit will be deeply missed. She loved to play and tease, often engaging in games of tug-of-war, peek-a-boo, and her famous “sneak attacks,” moving slowly before reaching her long arms to grab what she wanted or scooting out the door in a flash. She adored babies and children. She loved getting attention by simply emptying her drawers, scattering toys, or playfully unfolding laundry. Her radiant smile, big blue eyes, and mischievous nature endeared her to everyone.
In quieter moments, Kelly cherished having her back rubbed and would fold herself in half but peek up hoping for a reaction. She had a unique way of communicating, always finding means to express her choices and needs. Forever young at heart and a gentle soul, Kelly taught all of us the beauty of unconditional love and joy.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Uni Home Health for their exceptional care, to Danielle Rasmussen at Envision Quality Supports, a dear friend who tirelessly ensured Kelly’s well-being, and to Kimberly Mauchner, whose caring massage therapy brought Kelly comfort, joy, and peace.
A celebration of Kelly’s life will be held this Saturday, November 16, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park South Valley, 13001 3600 W, Riverton, UT where we will gather with light refreshments and share stories. Kelly’s memory will endure in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was tremendously loved, and we are grateful for the light she brought into our lives.
