Jeffrey Traver Ward, born on November 5, 1957, to Robert L. Ward and Lonnie L. Kay, was a man of deep conflicts, humor, and resilience. Known simply as "Jeff" to family and friends, he was a gifted athlete and a man with a heart as big as his love for sports.
Jeff's athletic journey began with baseball, a game he shared with his beloved grandfather, Karl. As a skilled pitcher and first baseman, he shined on the field and earned All-Star status in his pony league days. But it was golf that captured Jeff's heart most enduringly. Following in the footsteps of his father, Bob, who introduced him to the game, Jeff played on his high school golf team and carried his love for the sport throughout his life.
Though life presented Jeff with its share of challenges, he was known for his infectious laugh and his unique sense of humor. He would often joke, "I'm glad you don't have my brain," a testament to his spirit and ability to find levity in any situation.
Jeff leaves behind his loving parents, his siblings, Jim Ward, Brad Ward, Stacy Ward, Brent Ward, Bryan Ward, David Ward, Kristine Malone and Kathy Brandt, and many nieces and nephews. His spirit and humor will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. Rest in peace, dear Jeff. We will carry you with us until we meet again.
