Donna Baer Wright was born in Providence, Utah on March 29, 1927, to loving parents Joseph and Klea Baer. She grew up on a lovely fruit orchard high on a hill, surrounded by her 12 siblings, and later attended Providence High School and the LDS Hospital Nurses Training Program, where she earned a degree in Nursing.
Donna dedicated her life to the gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and after completing her nurses training, she was called to serve a mission in California. After serving faithfully, she returned to nursing in Idaho Falls, ID where she reconnected with a lovely young man who had served in the same mission. After a short courtship, she married Don Wright in the Idaho Falls Temple on October 16, 1953. Shortly thereafter, they started their family and soon had five little children.
They lived in Idaho, Washington, and Utah before moving to Texas where they lived happily for over 50 years. Donna was an excellent homemaker and mother spending many happy years caring for her family. Her service in the church brought her great joy, and she shared her talents in various callings in the Relief Society and Primary. She and Don were called to serve in the Dallas, TX temple upon its dedication in 1984. They received great joy with 40 years of service to the members and furthering this important work. They also served a second full-time mission as Senior Missionaries in the Dallas, TX mission.
Donna is survived by her dear husband, Don, their son Blake (Janie), and daughters Gayle (Doug), Donelle (A.L.), Ronda (Don), and Janice (Michael), and 17 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
Donna leaves behind a legacy of devotion and righteousness that will forever be treasured by her family and friends and all those whom she so lovingly served throughout her life.
A funeral service for Donna will be held Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1364 West 1870 North, Lehi, Utah.
