Vera S. Pasillas

VERA S. PASILLAS Passed away December 11, 2012 in Riverside, CA, at the age of 86. Born in Riverside to Micaela and Felipe Sanchez. She had lived in Riverside for 86 years. Vera loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They brought great joy to her life and always welcomed them with hugs and kisses. She was loved by everyone who knew her. Preceded in death by her husband Fidel C. Pasillas and her son Staff Sergeant Henry Pasillas, who died in Vietnam in 1968. Vera is survived by four daughters and their husbands, Carmen & Johnny Lemos, Esther & Bill Barclay, Nikki & George Lira, and Josephine & David Herrera. Also three sons and their wives, David, a Vietnam Veteran, USMC & Theresa Pasillas, Joseph & Kailey Pasillas, Richard & Mary Pasillas and brother Joe & Rita Sanchez. Vera has 24 grandchildren & 55 great grandchildren; many nieces & nephews, and her sister-in-law Patsy Medrano. Vera was proud to be a gold star mother and had six military men, including her husband, in her family. She loved to attend all the military services at the Riverside National Cemetery since it opened. Service will be held at Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer on Tuesday, Dec. 18th, 4pm to 8pm. Mass will be held at St. Anthony's Church on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 9:30am. Interment at Riverside National Cemetery at 11:30am.
