Ruth Alice Turner

Ruth Flores Turner passed peacefully at Parkview Community Hospital in Riverside, California on December 30, 2021. Ruth was born on September 25, 1947 to Gloria and Eusebio Flores. She was born and raised in Corona, California where she graduated from Corona High in 1965. After high school Ruth began working at the office of Dr. Norman Mellor in Corona where she discovered her love of medicine. Although she was raising young children she decided to follow her dream of becoming a registered nurse and enrolled in the nursing program at Riverside Community College in Riverside, California. After completing her studies at RCC, Ruth worked in the labor and delivery department of Circle City Hospital, Corona Regional Hospital and Parkview Community Hospital where she worked for several years before retiring.

After retirement, Ruth and her husband, Mike, took a leap of faith and moved to Centerton, Arkansas. She loved the open space and green fields of Arkansas. It was quite different than Southern California, but she loved living there with her husband, step-daughter and step-grandson, and of course, her birds.

Ruth had a servant's heart. She always put everyone’s needs before her own. She was in California visiting family for the Thanksgiving holiday and helping to take care of Gloria, her 94 year old mother, when Ruth became ill.

Ruth was preceded in death by her father, Eusebio Flores, her mother, Gloria Flores, and her beloved daughter, Sheila Reveles. Ruth is survived by her husband, Mike Turner of AR, her son, Rick Martinez of CA, her granddaughter, Christine Frye-Moebius of NV, her grandsons, Rick and Jerric Reveles of CA, her brother, Al and his wife, Mary Flores of CA, her sister, Anna Marquez of CA, her brother, Dave Flores of CA, her sister, Marti and her husband, Jim Schmitzer of NV, her brother, Josh and his wife, Bonnie Flores of AZ, her step-daughter, Kayla Turner of AR, many nieces and nephews, 1 step-grandson and 3 great-grandchildren.

A memorial and celebration of Ruth’s life will be held at Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary (7944 Magnolia Ave., Riverside, CA 92504) on Monday, February 7, 2022 from 8:00 am - 10:00 am. An interment service for Ruth will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Memorial Park (11500 Arlington Ave., Riverside, CA 92505).
